I have to admit I have been admiring Palin's taste in clothing, especially the red leather jacket she wore the other day. Thanks to recent news reports now I know why I've been paying attention to her wardrobe. Palin's outfits have been created by the finest designers in the world of haute couture. Sigh. Guess I'd better forget about ever owning that red leather jacket unless I can find a knock off at Chico's.
Sarah sure has exquisite taste in clothes. Price seems to be no limit when someone else is footing the bill. And like "Joe the Plumber" who is not a plumber, Palin does not like to pay her fair share of taxes, either.
Another grim lesson I have learned from Republicans who are running for office is that when they demonize something or something or attack someone for doing something they should not be doing, chances are the Republican is doing the very thing they are hyperventilating about.
Lately Sarah Palin has been stomping across the so-called red parts of America in her $600 a pop high heels and $12,000. suits while attacking Barack Obama whom she calls a socialist b/c he wants to redistribute the wealth. Duh, isn't that what taxes are supposed to do? Never mind.
According to Palin, Obama wants to steal money from the small business owners like Joe the Plumber who is not a plumber, nor does he own a business, and give it to other Americans who are very likely fake or anti-American.
The truth of the matter is Sarah Palin is the real socialist. Aside from the $150K wardrobe handout, as the governor of oil rich Alaska Sarah taxes the oil companies and transfers the revenues to her and the people of Alaska.
Hey, come to think of it, that's not such a bad idea. Maybe we should do the same thing in oil producing Texas. I like this kind of socialism. Joking aside, a real socialist would put the tax revenues into social services such as education, health care resources and outreach initiatives for Alaska's citizens.
Alaskans might be lucky to receive big oil dividends and so is Sarah, but sadly for her, Sarah has problems in the ethics, honesty and demagoguery departments.
Recently, on the campaign trail, Sarah Palin has been telling us there are pro-American small towns and anti-American other places.
Barack Obama is not, of course, a part of this pro and real America and neither is anyone who votes for him.
Pro-American towns are wholesome, apple pie places where parents work hard to provide for their families. They are populated by Joe the Plumbers, Ed the Electricians, Wendy the Waitresses, Bubba the Builders, Carl the Cops and Fred and Fannie the Farmers. Pro-American Moms shop at Wal-Mart and all women are like just Sarah Palin - down to earth, jeans and parka wearing, apple pie baking, hockey and PTA Moms.
Earth to plumbers, electricians and all members of the working and middle classes. John McCain and Sarah Palin are going to steal as much of your money as they can. And they're going to give your money to their fat cat friends who are lobbyists and masters of the universe rip off artists on Wall St.
I am not sure what the demographic makeup of the anti-American regions would include, or where the anti-American parts are located. Palin is not that specific. But according to her Pro-American Doctrine I think we could safely assume the anti-American areas would include places like New York City, Chicago and San Francisco. These regions must be comprised of latte drinking, Volvo driving effete elitists, agnostics and intellectuals who don't get married or have children. Anyone who reads above a 10th grade level would be considered an ivory tower egghead. The rest of the population must be atheists, deadbeats, criminals and drug addicts.
In Palin's view Houston would likely be considered anti-American because no one race holds a majority here and there are at least five different languages spoken everywhere all of the time. When I voted on Tuesday I could choose to do so in English, Spanish or Vietnamese. There are as many Jose el Plumeros as Joe the Plumbers. Houston represents the dawning of a new era of a blended America that scares the daylights out of xenophobes like Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs and Pat Buchanan. So sad, too bad for them.
But no matter how Palin spins her delusional Pro-American Doctrine and despite whatever $12,000 suit she's wearing while she's spinning it, this is the one America that millions of America remember and want back.
Poor Sarah just doesn't get it. Just because the Wal-Mart hockey has been transformed into The Hermes Designer Model Mom does not mean Sarah is smart, honest or ethical. Even the most beautiful and elegant clothing cannot mask certain very ugly realities.
The mainstream media has been running all day and night with stories about Sarah Palin's $150K shopping spree at Neimans and Saks Fifth Avenue for clothes, makeup and accessories. Some pundits are outraged, others are defending Sarah because image is important and a woman is under far greater scrutiny and blah, blah, blah, blah. Meanwhile, soldiers are dying, people are losing their jobs, their homes and 401K plans continue to evaporate. Sarah Palin and John McCain continue to lie and launch despicable robo calls. And the RNC is distributing vile, filthy flyers that says:
"Terrorists" on the front and opens to a big picture of Barack saying "Not Who You Think He Is."
The flyer says it all about John McCain, Sarah Palin, the RNC and who these people really are. They are desperate and irresponsible.
Sarah The Hermes Designer Model like Joe the Plumber who is not a plumber, does not believe she has to pay her fair share of taxes. The other day diarist Chicago Swan reported on an AP investigation of Palin's state travel reimbursements on Daily Kos.
As governor of Alaska Sarah Palin charged the state for travel expenses for her daughters. Tax specialists are questioning why the over $20,000. Palin received in reimbursements was not included in her taxable income.
Gov. Sarah Palin charged the state for her children to travel with her, including to events where they were not invited, and later amended expense reports to specify that they were on official business.
Palin has excellent taste in hotels, too.
In October 2007, Palin brought daughter Bristol along on a trip to New York for a women's leadership conference. Plane tickets from Anchorage to La Guardia Airport for $1,385.11 were billed to the state, records show, and mother and daughter shared a room for four nights at the $707.29-per-night Essex House hotel, which overlooks Central Park.
Sarah and her daughter attended the conference for 5 hours but spent 4 nights and 5 days at the Essex House. I realize there is so much to do in New York that a day or two would never be sufficient. But shouldn't a pro-American hockey Mom do it on her own dime and not on the backs of the people of Alaska?
I also wonder if the revelation of Palin's pricey hotel pick is why Rupert Murdock printed and then retracted a false piece about Michelle Obama and her daughters. An article in New York's Daily News reported that Michelle Obama and her daughters stayed at Waldorf Astoria where they ordered lobster, Iranian caviar and champagne.
It is interesting to watch how the Republican Party and its enablers in the media operate. Meet the media's double standard at work.
Sarah also charged the people of Alaska for sleeping in her own home.
The state is already reviewing nearly $17,000 in per diem payments to Palin for more than 300 nights she slept at her own home, 40 miles from her satellite office in Anchorage.
Barack Obama, the socialist who wants to steal small business owner's money and give it to fake and anti-Americans had his shoes resoled a year ago. The same shoes have new holes. This photo is priceless:
Sarah Palin reminds me of W. in so many ways. She has absolutely no problem squandering taxpayers' money or private money either for her personal use. She thinks the law does not apply to her and the Palin's believe they are exempt from certain categories of income taxes that most Americans are required to pay. Like W. she distorts language and will lie when she has to. She is anti-intellectual and as Mark Green of Air America Radio said Sarah Palin is an unqualified demagogue.
Palin also does not know or could give a damn about the Constitution. She thinks the Vice President runs the Senate. Not even the power grabbing Dick Cheney went that far.
For me the scariest thing about Sarah Palin is how close in ideology she is to McCarthy. For the sake of the future of America we must ship Sarah Palin back to Alaska and make sure she stays there forever.
BTW, I changed my mind about the red leather jacket. Despite its enormous price, the jacket suddenly looks really cheap and seriously over priced.
