AUSTIN - Gov. Rick Perry, who was in Mexico last week, left Monday on a one-week trip to France and Sweden to promote more business opportunities for Texas and observe the anniversary of the D-Day invasion.
"The governor is going over there to talk about what a good place Texas is to do business," spokeswoman Allison Castle said. "He's going to brag about Texas."

Castle said the trip by commercial air is being financed through Texas One, the privately financed fund that Perry uses to promote economic development.
The World Investment Conference, a European-based group, is paying his airfare to La Baule.
The conference, which Perry will address Thursday, will be attended by a large number of high-level international leaders from business and government, Castle said.
Perry was in Mexico City last week to attend a meeting of U.S. and Mexican border governors.
Gee, its not like there are any issues here in Texas he might should take some interest in ( Polygamist Sect and its children).
I for one would not mind at all if he simply never came back, but that is just me. Have a good time Goodhair....
We all keep hearing about living green or going green and as we all try to do this we have to utilize the resources that are available in our areas to get information.
'Green' is the new blackIf you aren't yet sleeping on organic cotton sheets and chopping veggies on your bamboo cutting board on a recycled glass tile countertop, you're in the minority.
I guess maybe it was something Al Gore said, because according to a phone survey sponsored by the American Home Furnishings Alliance, more than 76 percent of the U.S. population believes it is important to purchase earth-friendly home products, and 72 percent say they would pay up to 10 percent more for environmentally friendly furniture. "Green" is the new black.
Let's see some links to your favorite green sites or stories.
No, Rove and Limbaugh won't be mud-wrestling for our pleasure, at least not any time soon (they may have to seek 'alternate employment opportunities' the way things are going).
Instead, I'm talking about some real fireworks for your Fourth of July ... on the planet Jupiter.
If you were given the power to save a species by something you did, wouldn't you want to do it? This may be your chance to do just that and all you need to do is send Emails. What species are you trying to save? It is called the Toyota RAV4 EV. These are the cutest of the Cute Ute family of sports utility vehicles. It has soft rubber paws, and big headlight eyes, but what it is really great about these vehicles is that they don't smell. They emit no noxious gasses. None. This makes them a very special species of vehicle, it is a Zero Emissions Vehicle. They run on the electricity from your home. Unfortunately, many of these types of species have been hunted and crushed out of existence. Already extinct is the RAV4 EVs smaller cousin the GM EV1. There are no laws preventing the extinction of the RAV4 EV. Most are in captivity in large organizations. What we want to do is to set them free and allow them to be adopted by families that will love them, treat them well and save on gasoline. Won't you help?
