TAKE TEXAS BACK!
A bunch of thieves, thugs, and nutcases took over Texas. Then they used it as a stepping stone to Washington, DC.

They raided our treasury, stripped our schools and handed it all to their corporate cronies.

Y'all ready to do something about it?

The $2.7 Trillion W. Forgot to Mention

by: Libby Shaw

Mon Feb 23, 2009 at 19:48:58 PM CST

W. sure was well versed in the fuzzy math for which he had ridiculed Al Gore back during the 1999 Presidential campaign cycle. Between the removal of all regulatory checks and balances, coupled with the failure to include all of the federal spending dollars in the national budget, the American people, yet again, have been misled, swindled and scammed by the Bush Administration and his Republican Party.

Thanks to the sources cited in my most recent diary on the make believe of trickle down nothing economic black magic, we are reminded that Phil Gramm, while serving in the U.S. Senate, had engineered the dismantling of the Glass-Steagall Act in 1999. The Glass-Steagall Act had been passed in 1933 as a means to stem the wild and rampant speculation of banks that led to the Great Depression.

Why Texans Deserve Far Better Than John Cornyn, Part I

by: Libby Shaw

Mon Dec 17, 2007 at 15:18:02 PM CST

Why do we deserve better?  The reasons are quite simple and obvious to me.  First of all Senator Cornyn is supposed to represent the best interests of his constituents in Washington.  But his voting record shows that he does not work for us and never intended to.   No indeed, our so-called "representative" in the U.S. Senate is happily joined at the hip with the squalid, the inept, and those who despise democracy.  Some of Cornyn's close buddies in slimy business deals are now convicted felons.  These are the people he hangs with, obeys, and follows like a sheep.  This coterie of human slime got Cornyn to where he is today.  He represents them and their interests.   Cornyn is indeed their Stepford dream Wife.

There are so many reasons why Cornyn is not fit to serve Texans as our U.S. Senator that I decided to divide my argument into 3 or 4 parts. Who knows, maybe it will evolve to 10 parts when I finish reading what I have discovered so far.   For now, Part I will reveal Cornyn's history as a chicken hawk who dodged the Vietnam draft.
