A bunch of thieves, thugs, and nutcases took over Texas. Then they used it as a stepping stone to Washington, DC.

They raided our treasury, stripped our schools and handed it all to their corporate cronies.

Meet the GOP/Tea Party Billionaire Puppet Masters, Part 2

by: Libby Shaw

Tue Aug 31, 2010 at 14:02:43 PM CDT

Part I addressed the invasive and dangerous power and influence of billionaires Charles and David Koch and Rupert Murdoch and their powerful grip on the GOP, especially its tea party wing.

As we have learned from recent national media reports, barring Fox cable TV "news" of course, self-serving billionaires have invested millions of dollars in a single minded effort to support right wing causes, especially the tea party wing of the Republican party. The main goal of the pervasively powerful corporate potentates is to seek out and find political tools and loyal enablers that will carry their water.

The Republican Party has enthusiastically clicked its heels, while courageously stepping up to selflessly volunteer to serve the potentates of money, power and influence.  In so doing the GOP also showed its unbridled willingness to throw everyday Americans into the ditch if such abandonment of constituents better serves the Party's corporate masters.

At least we can now understand the rationale for the Republican servants willful and stubborn obstruction of legislation that would fuel our economic recovery.

The GOP enabling shills have snapped to attention because the puppet masters have given its talking points to lawmakers ranging in rank from Mitch McConnell to John Boehner to half-term governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, and TX Gov. Rick Perry the Secessionist.  The billionaire ventriloquists that speak through the voices of Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh, understandably yearn for a return to the unfettered Wall St. days of W.

The GOP to Homeless Veterans: Tough Sh*t

by: Libby Shaw

Tue Jun 29, 2010 at 23:49:03 PM CDT

The baby boomer Republican lawmakers, most of whom had conveniently evaded the Vietnam War draft, continue to demonstrate the party's appalling collective ethical bankruptcy where our military veterans are concerned.

The GOP continues to show its unbridled contempt for the needs of everyday people, especially those that had the courage to step up to serve in the military during war time.  These are folks that possess and embrace the values of courage and principle.

The Republican Party obviously embraces the notion of endless wars.

But one should never expect a war mongering Republican to put one's own life on the line.

The GOP seems to be courage free and principle challenged.

War is great.  War makes us strong as a nation. War is good for the economy.

As long as someone else does the fighting and dying. Anyone but me and mine.

GOP Stands by its Man BP

by: Libby Shaw

Mon May 17, 2010 at 15:54:21 PM CDT

Republicans continue to fall all over themselves defending BP.  All are likely up to their eyeballs in donations from the oil and gas industry.

God forbid should BP be expected to pay every claim proposed by those whose loved ones have been killed and those whose businesses and careers have been destroyed by BP's reckless, irresponsible and apparently unstoppable oil volcano and gas leak in the Gulf of Mexico.

Meanwhile here in Texas our Attorney General is doing the same thing.  According to a press release issued by Democratic candidate Barbara Radnofsky today Abbott seriously underestimated the devastating long term impact of the Gulf oil leak.

Republicans Block U.S. Finance Reform Bill AGAIN

by: Libby Shaw

Tue Apr 27, 2010 at 21:03:03 PM CDT

Strike 1.  In the U.S. Senate last night 57 Democrats voted on behalf of Main St. while 41 Republicans and 1 Democrat stood by their main man on Wall St.

Strike 2: Tonight's rerun of last night. 41 Republicans and 1 Democrat shut down a debate on the financial reform bill.

I'd say shame on all but none of the 41 and 1 know any shame at all.

Check out the dudes for whom the entire Republican membership of the U.S. Senate works.

Goldman Sachs peddles shi**y deals for unsuspecting suckers.  Meanwhile, back at the Fifth Avenue and Park Avenue penthouses, Goldman fat cats continue to stuff piles of cash into their personal vaults. Of course the fat cats set several piles of moola aside to buy off politicians who are willing and eager to serve as the market makers' pimps.

Republicans Continue to Lie About Non Existent "Bailout Bill"

by: Libby Shaw

Tue Apr 20, 2010 at 20:03:20 PM CDT

Haven't we seen this movie before?  Remember last summer's town hall hate fests with their death panels, a government socialist takeover of health care and pulling the plug on Granny?  Dick Armey and FOX Fixed News may have folded their tents and went back home after health care reform passed.  But they left behind a bunch of angry teabaggers who, according to reports, are tearing up the GOP.

Although Dick Armey has crawled back into his cave, the Republican Party has a vast number of spinmiesters, language manipulators and puppeteers at its disposal.  Frank Luntz is one of them.  He is a GOP pollster and a strategist. Luntz has come out from behind his screen with Fox Fixed News by  his side.  Their ultimate goal:  kill off financial reform by saying it will ensure perpetual bailouts to Wall St. from now to eternity.

And so Mitch McConnell, John Cornyn, Michele Bachmann and other Republican lawmakers have been reciting lying points verbatim and non stop, 24/7. They repeat perpetual bailouts over and over, knowing fully well that they are lying.

At least some in the mainstream media are on to GOP lies.  Mark Halperin, surprisingly, is among the first one to get it.  Check him out on the right wing Morning Joe show.

John Cornyn, Mitch McConnell, the GOP Stand by Their Wall St. Man

by: Libby Shaw

Thu Apr 15, 2010 at 20:52:14 PM CDT

Cornyn, McConnell and the Republican Party continues to serve Wall St. breakfast in bed.

Anyone who does not get the fact that the  Republican Party works 24/7/365 on behalf of fat cat especially the greed infested oinkers on Wall St., is delusional or lives in some kind of alternative universe.

Where delusion and alternative realities are concerned Teabaggers come to mind. Now that we know the teabagger movement is fueled by a bunch of rich older white guys like Dick Armey and Turd Blossom Rove well, hell.  What else is new about teabaggers and right wing Republicans? So much for ginned up fake grassroots movements.

About 25 Wall Street executives, many of them hedge fund managers, sat down for a private meeting Thursday afternoon with two of the most powerful Republican lawmakers in Congress: Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, and John Cornyn, the senior senator from Texas who runs the National Republican Senatorial Committee, one of the primary fundraising arms of the Republican Party.

Uninsured People Die Every Day. Republicans Couldn't Care Less

by: Libby Shaw

Wed Mar 17, 2010 at 19:09:04 PM CDT

The Republican Party is fighting to the death to kill health care reform. Thousands of sick, uninsured patients who are holding on by threads, are desperately waiting for help from Washington.

Each day that they obstruct HCR and play procedural games, Republican lawmakers are telling the sick they could not care less about them.

The Republican Party obviously operates in complete and total lock step with the health insurance industry.

Fat cat has called for an all hands on deck effort to block reform.  Republicans are to use all means possible, including whopping lies if push comes to shove.

Push must have come to shove.

The recent GOP fabrication about the New England Journal Medicine claim that physicians are so terrified of health care reform that they would leave medicine if passed, is a total myth, compliments of none other than the right wing lying machine.  God knows what other BS we will be hearing within the next few days from the right wing crazy machine.

And as far as the polls that indicate the public does not support HCR today are concerned, folks had the same opinion about the now hugely popular programs like Medicare and Social Security.

One also has to wonder how the questions are posed by the pollsters. I have been polled by Zogby on several occasions and I have read the questions.

Members of Congress should do what is right for the people and forget about themselves for a minute. We must rely on Democrats because as we well know, the Republicans have neither the courage nor the integrity to stand up for the uninsured. Indeed, if Repubicans were serious about health care reform, the GOP would have done something about it during all of the years the party was in control.

Why do Republicans want to start over on health care reform?

Because fat cat said to start over.

They Know What They Are Doing and They Like What They Do.

by: Libby Shaw

Sat Aug 08, 2009 at 21:10:43 PM CDT

It was so very naive and silly of me to suggest that the GOP should step up and take responsibility, as any adult would do, by calling a halt to the brown shirt shout downs at town hall meetings on healthcare reform.

Silly, silly me. That won't happen.  Never. Ever. Even if hell freezes over and the entire country is in the throes of death, the answer remains to be no, never, in your dreams, not even if hell freezes over.

Despite GOP cries for freedom, its flag waving, its  prominence of lapel wearing flag pins, its highly orchestrated scenarios of patriotism and noble words about freedom, the GOP's behavior has nothing to do with any of the principles mentioned above.

Actions speak louder than words.   Shouting down and shutting out the questions and opinions that fellow Americans want to ask and share with their elected representative is:

anti-democratic,

anti-patriotic and

anti-American.

When political rhetoric goes over the top, inaction by a party's leadership is the same as blind acquiescence.

According to former right wing Republican and evangelical Christian leader, Frank Schaeffer, the GOP, its conservative pundits and the self-serving corporate sharks in the healthcare industry know no bounds in pulling off what is best for them.

For right wing Republicans, conservative pundits, the corporate sharks and their now enabled fruit loop nut jobs, it is a fight to the death.

Obstructionist Politicians on the Take and Corporate Teabaggers

by: Libby Shaw

Tue Aug 04, 2009 at 17:11:11 PM CDT

MSNBC's Keith Olbermann smacks down the obstructionist Republicans and Blue Dogs who are getting major contributions from the health care industry.

PBS pointed out that the health and insurance industries are spending more than a million, 400 thousand dollars a day, just to destroy the "public option" - the truly non-profit, wieldy, round-up and not round-down, government, from helping you pay your medical bills with about a billionth of the recklessness with which it is still paying Halliburton and its spinoffs to kill your kids.

And much of this money is going to, and through, Republicans.

But that's the real point tonight.
Not all of it is going through Republicans...

John Cornyn Out to Kill Health Care Reform: Misleads Houston Doctors

by: Libby Shaw

Wed Jul 01, 2009 at 13:25:12 PM CDT

According to an article written in the Houston Chronicle this morning, John Cornyn, John McCain and Mitch McConnell met with a group of doctors at the Texas Medical Center in Houston.  John Cornyn is apparently on a mission to destroy health care reform by misleading and scaring doctors and patients, alike.

According to Cornyn, the evil doer is a non-existent single payer option.

"This is where the government option is a competitor but the government's not exactly a fair competitor," said Cornyn, of Texas, a member of the Senate Finance Committee, which is considering health care reform proposals. "It's an 800-pound gorilla that has the capacity to undermine other competitors. We want to make sure we don't do anything to crush the kind of innovation that has led to cures and happier and healthier lives in Texas and around the world."

Dude, the only thing destroying innovation and cures are the crippling costs imposed by for-profit driven health care insurance companies.

The federal government agencies (i.e. the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Health etc.) and private foundations provide grants that fuel much of the innovation and cures.  Is John Cornyn suggesting the public option will automatically become single-payer and federal grants will no longer be awarded to research faculty and doctors? The public option means no more federal funding for research?

If he is suggesting this he is both a fool and a liar.

GOP War Hawk Sissy Boys Blame Torture on the D Girl

by: Libby Shaw

Sat May 16, 2009 at 17:54:40 PM CDT

According to the some of the renowned Viet Nam War draft evaders and right wing war hawks

Dick Cheney, Rush Limbaugh, George W. Bush, Karl Rove, Pat Buchanan, Lou Dobbs, Sean Hannity, Bill Kristol, Bill Blunt, Tom Delay, Newt Gingrich, Rudy Giuliani, Phil Gramm, John Cornyn, Trent Lott, Mitch McConnell, Paul Wolfowitz,  Bill O'Reilly, Michael Savage

Nancy Pelosi personally ordered the CIA to find a link between Iraq and Al-Qaida.  The GOP sissy boys also insist that when no links between the two evil doers could be found, Nancy the D Girl unilaterally ordered heinous torture to bring about the results the sissy boy cowards needed to gin up their war on Iraq.

Hats off to Ed Shultz of MSNBC for calling the Sissy Boys out for their psycho babble.

John Cornyn Says Elections Don't Matter

by: Libby Shaw

Thu May 14, 2009 at 09:57:48 AM CDT

There they go again, those vote suppressing, vote hating Republicans.  Watch 'em tell us they can buy the election outcomes they want even after recount after recount shows their candidate lost.

Come on John Cornyn and Co.  Why don't you just come clean and say only white folks with a lot of money should be allowed to vote.  Your party obviously loathes the right to vote.

What quintessential anti-democratic sore losers.  Stunts like this should guarantee the Republican's regional/minority status for decades to come. Of course everyone knows this is a gimmick to prevent Al Franken from serving in the U.S. Senate for months and months to come.  It's all about obstruct baby obstruct.

So much for doing what's best for one's country.
