TAKE TEXAS BACK!
A bunch of thieves, thugs, and nutcases took over Texas. Then they used it as a stepping stone to Washington, DC.

They raided our treasury, stripped our schools and handed it all to their corporate cronies.

Y'all ready to do something about it?

Time to Get Up and Out for Healthcare Reform

by: boadicea

Fri Aug 07, 2009 at 15:40:45 PM CDT

Just got this from DFT:

It's Freeper Madness!

By now we have all heard of the freeper-fest at Congressman Lloyd Doggett's "neighborhood office hours" event.  Admit it, you feel a little guilty for not doing everything possible for "healthy healthcare."  Your latest chance to show support for real healthcare reform has arrived.  Media folks are sure to be there!

       Congressman Lloyd Doggett's Next
       Healthcare Event

       11:15 a.m. Saturday, August 8

       CommunityCare, Rundberg Health Center

       825 E. Rundberg Lane

Special Update: Senator John Cornyn has told Gardner Selby of the Statesman he plans to attend.  He sincerely hopes our rights to freedom of speech aren't impinged upon at the rally, so let's exercise those rights!

We need to show the country why Doggett wins his elections by a margin of over 67% every time. Most importantly, we must show the national media that the majority of Americans believe in meaningful healthcare reform!

   Quick Link...
   Rep. Doggett on Rachel Maddow
  Austin American-Statesman Article, 08/04/09

   Your DFT Steering Committee-

Erik Azulay, Glen Maxey, Mark McCulloch, and Karl-Thomas Musselman

Also for those of you in TX-26, well, first of all, my sympathies that you're stuck with Michael Burgess.

But he is having a couple of events according to the FDL event calendar (for which, mad props)

   What  Mike Burgess, Denton, TX
   When Sat Aug 8 10am - Sat Aug 8 11am

Where Center for the Visual Arts, 400 East Hickory Street, Denton, TX

What Mike Burgess, Gainesville, TX
   When Sat Aug 8 2pm - Sat Aug 8 3pm
WhereUPDATED LOCATION: North Central Texas College, Administration Building, Little Theater, 1525 California Street, Gainesville, TX 76240

Go, represent the real majority of Americans, and defend our democratic dialog.

This just in from Democracy for Texas:

And the DFT endorsement goes to... .

..Representative Rick Noriega!

Dear DFT Member,

You have spoken loud and clear. With overwhelming support from all over the State, Rick Noriega is the stand-out choice of the grassroots to face John Cornyn in the race for the U.S. Senate. The final results are:

Candidate // All Voters // Pre-Poll DFT Members

Rick Noriega // 78.4% // 86.2%
Mikal Watts // 21.6% // 13.8%

Total votes cast: 1,931*

DFT Senate Endorsement Poll Open through Midnight

by: boadicea

Sat Sep 22, 2007 at 09:27:03 AM CDT

John Cornyn has been on the wrong side of countless issues that are critical to Texans in general and DFT supporters in particular. Beyond that, well, he's just an embarrassment. But we're not telling you something you didn't already know, right?

Democracy for Texas has never endorsed a candidate for public office. But this race is too important to the future of our state and our country not to put all of our resources behind the candidate we feel best represents our "socially progressive, fiscally responsible" philosophy.

From Fran Vincent in an email blast from DFT:

Rules:

1. One person, one vote. If you vote more than once, all of your votes will be tossed.

2. You must be a Texan.

Click Here to Vote.  Poll is only open for a few more days, so get in there and make your voice heard. Then tell your Texas friends to get in there, too.
