Anderson Cooper of CNN busted Texas U.S. House House Rep. Louie Gohmert for lying about so-called "terror babies" on the floor of the U.S. Congress. Cooper also accused Gohmert of fomenting fear using false information. Gohmert apparently cannot handle the truth and facts very well.
Gohmert's complete temper tantrum can be viewed here. It certainly is an ugly sight to behold.
Vyan over at Daily Kos has written an excellent piece about MSNBC's Rachel Maddow's deconstruction of Fox's race baiting and the Republican Party's most recent southern strategy of scorched earth politics.
I betcha Louie Gohmert and Sarah Palin did not realize that their hysterical invocations of Hitler when bellyaching about President Obama's demands to BP have brought the Evil One back from the grave.
Hitler is back and he is foaming at the mouth with rage. It looks like Hitler's ghost is going to haunt Smokey Joe and his GOP for a very long time.
The loony fringe of the Texas GOP continues to fall all over itself standing by their big sugar daddy, BP. Louie Gohmert took extremism to a new level when he compared President Obama's demand to BP for $20 billion to who else but Hitler.
Is there a head doctor in the house? President Obama's demands for accountability and responsibility from BP seems to have driven the Texas GOP stark raving mad.
There they go outing themselves again. Republicans are the ones that are easily led idiots who will believe anything a demagogue says. Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck are perfect examples. And as I recall, W. whined about how much easier it would have been to rule as a dictator instead of a democratically elected President.
There they go again. The GOP clown shows complete with its outrageous signs are out in full force this week. Health care reform has Republicans and its teabagger wing in a state of hysteria.
Too bad most do not understand that they will actually benefit from health care reform legislation. But oh well, I've given up on expecting rational thought and reason to prevail among a bunch of misled and manipulated extremists.
Glenn Beck must have spiked U.S. Rep. Gohmert's iced tea. Or maybe the weather has been so cold in Washington that most of Gohmert's brain cells have frozen. Or perhaps the fact that over 30 million uninsured Americans will now be able to afford health coverage and the insurance companies will no longer be able to hand out death sentences to patients is simply too much for Gohmert to bear.
Speaking shortly after he riled up a crowd at Tuesday's Tea Party protest, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Tex.) declared that "demons" - yes, demons - have invaded the capital (and likely the souls of Democrats), forcing lawmakers to mislead the public about the content of the health care bill.
The Republicans and their water carrying blustering blowhards in the conventional wisdom alternative universe bubble have been frantically working 24/7 to fabricate the perception that the federal stimulus program is not working.
Those Americans who reside outside the Republican and conventional "wisdom" bubble, i.e. Joe, Jose, Jane, Yolanda, Chen, Hui, Omar and Laqueesha (to name a handful) have a far different view of the federal stimulus program.
It seems that Republicans and the Party's blowhards ignored the recently released Congressional Budget Office report. Or perhaps the Republicans and its tools did not like what they read. Yikes, this stimulus can't work or we are dead. Change the message! If the government works we lose! No matter what, kill off any good news about the stimulus program! Who cares what happens to the average Jane and Joe Americans? WTF are they?! This is all about us and our ability to stockpile as much money for ourselves as we can! Heaven help us! Change the bleeping bleepity bleep message! Jeeze oh Pete - gin up a freaking war if need be!
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said the $787 billion stimulus package approved in February lowered the nation's unemployment rate by between 0.3 and 0.9 percentage points while boosting the economy by between 1.2 percent and 3.2 percent. The analysis also found that three-quarters of the money provided in the stimulus had yet to be funneled into the economy by the end of September.
The report is a boost for the administration, which faced renewed questions last month over how many jobs the stimulus has produced after the Government Accountability Office said it found "significant" problems with the White House's tally. The administration has estimated the stimulus created or saved 640,329 jobs through October.
The report released yesterday "leaves no doubt that the economy would be in much worse shape if the recovery act had not been implemented," said House Education and Labor Committee Chairman George Miller, a California Democrat. "As the Obama administration and Congress continue to explore additional strategies to create jobs and build a foundation for long-term economic growth, it is critical to acknowledge the progress that has already been made."
According to the DCCC there are 67 House Republicans who voted against the stimulus package. But when these no voters are back in their home states they like to brag and swagger about bringing home the bacon. On a different level, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison joins these ranks. She voted against the stimulus bill and yet she criticized Rick Perry for turning down federal funding for extended unemployment benefits.
Texas has its fair share of outstanding hypocrites. Check the list below to see if your U.S. House Rep. is included in the GOP Hall of Hypocrites. I am not shocked to admit that my Rep. is among them. I betcha your's are too.
It seems that the senior Senator from Texas wants Governor Perry to quit his job so she can keep her Senate seat while running for his post. Kay Bailey Hutchison wants to hang on to her Senate seat so she can obstruct health care reform and vote against Sonia Sotomayor.
The Rick and Kay competition is heating up to a bar room brawl level as Rick threatens to throw stuff at Kay. Stuff like moving up the date for a special election because "too many important things are going on in Washington." That and Kay's pulling a Palin is very "irresponsible."
It's funny how these big government, health care reform and Sotomayor loathing politicians sure enjoy their cushy tax payer funded government jobs with Lexus level health care. And our big government, welfare hating governor sure enjoys his tax payer funded free housing that includes a staff of domestic servants to take care of his and his wife's creature comforts.
You know folks, it must be even hotter in Washington DC these days than it has been in Houston because based on some of our Republican lawmakers behaviors of late I am beginning to think many of them are suffering from heat stroke of the brain. Or perhaps heat stroke of one's personal honesty, integrity and courage would be a more accurate description.
The Dem caucus was split between those who voted for it, and those who refused to continue funding the Iraq invasion and occupation.
You might guess that gleeful House Republicans jumped to vote with the first group to split the Dem caucus, right?
Wrong.
These brave chickenhawks are so wedded to their obstructionist agenda, they all chose to vote "present". Meaning, we're here, but we won't vote for or against this measure, which allowed it to die on the floor of Congress.
So, when you see the ad telling you Dems are going to strand our troops in Iraq without support, remember these names Texas.
